Domestication and Industrialism

from the domestication of plants and animals to the industrial scale extinctions and industrial wholesale destruction and death spurred on by the military industrial complex.

The industrial machine sucks away our energy and our time, turns us into units of production, numbers on a screen. Millions of workers carrying out performative slavery for a meagre salary.

To accept the industrial economy is to give up any possibility of controlling or regulating it. Industrialism “grows” only by consuming the living world. Industrialism, in short, is an anomaly in all of creation, unnatural, inhuman, dehumanizing. Its most characteristic business is industrial war. Its distinguishing sign is waste. Because of industrialism imposed upon us all, there are now millions of people who have never seen a dark starry night or heard silence or seen anything beautiful.
